The site lies at the northwest end of the main shopping street in West Bromwich at a busy and important junction. The large Staples store hides most of the current building and acts as the focal point of the main vista for vehicles approaching Carters Green from the direction of Birmingham along either A41 or the High Street.

Road improvements have significantly altered the grain and pattern of this part of the conurbation, allowing the frontages to be redeveloped.

The area is on the edge of a small residential area dating from the 1970s and close to the Dudley Street Metro station. Industrial Commercial and Retail premises are situated to the northwest and to the south east, along the main routes of the former industrial heritage of the area.
