The YCA runs a full and varied programme of activities targeted at different sections of the Yemeni community, with the aim of improving general levels of health education and awareness as well as fostering a strong sense of community and social responsibility:

The Elderly Women's Access Point (WAP)

The Elderly Women's Access Point was developed to reduce isolation and social dislocation that exists among the senior female members of the Yemeni community.  This takes place every Wednesday at the Greets Green Access Centre, Tildasley Street, West Bromwich, between 10am and 2pm.  All are welcome.

Women's Access Points (WAP)

The primary aim of the Women's Access Points (West Bromwich and Rowley Regis) is to provide a culturally sensitive environment that enables younger women to fully participate in basic skills provision, keep fit and (for the West Bromwich WAP) health awareness sessions.  To ensure maximum participation, crèche facilities are offered to pre-school children from ages 1 and up.

Elderly Men's Luncheon Club

 

The Elderly Men's Luncheon Club was introduced to encourage activity in the senior male members of the Yemeni community, as well as to improve their awareness of relevant health issues in a friendly and social environment.  The Luncheon Club is held every Tuesday between 11am and 2pm and the Greets Green Access Centre (Tildasley Street, West Bromwich), and all elder men are welcome.
